This design process captures the car’s shape and details, creating a precise outline that will be laser-etched into a piece of stainless steel. The image will be modified as necessary to ensure clean, sharp lines that represent the car accurately at a small scale.For customization, optional text (such as the owner’s name or the vehicle’s license plate number) can be added below or beside the car image. This text will be etched in a chosen font, ensuring durability and readability on the stainless steel keychain.

Our designers handle the vectorization:
Start by selecting a high-resolution image and importing it into vector software to convert it to a vector format. Simplify the design to remove unnecessary details, ensuring it’s suitable for laser cutting. Add any requested text, such as a name or license plate number, in a clear font. Set line thickness to the minimum required for precise cuts and convert shapes to outlines. Finally, export the file in a laser-compatible format (DXF, SVG, or AI) and perform a final check to confirm accuracy.
This completes the file preparation for precise laser cutting of a stainless steel keychain.
Laser Cutting Process
The laser cutting process with a 3 kW fiber laser uses a powerful, focused laser beam to heat and melt the metal surface at a precise point. Nitrogen and air are employed as assist gases to enhance cutting quality.
Nitrogen is typically applied at high pressure to prevent oxidation of the metal, ensuring clean, smooth edges, especially when cutting stainless steel. Air can be used as an alternative for materials where an ultra-smooth edge isn’t critical or to reduce nitrogen consumption costs.
The process is controlled by a CNC system, which ensures accuracy and complexity in cutting, optimizing energy and material usage to achieve high-quality, precise cuts on metal sheets.
After cutting, the keychain undergoes polishing to achieve a smooth, shiny surface free of imperfections. This is typically done with abrasive compounds or polishing wheels to enhance the finish and ensure a refined appearance.
Next, engraving is applied to add any custom text or designs, like a name or license plate number. This is usually done with a laser engraver, allowing for high precision and durability, ensuring the details are clear and long-lasting.
Finally, the keychain is carefully packaged to protect it during transport. Soft padding or individual pouches are often used, followed by a box or protective sleeve. This ensures the keychain reaches the customer in pristine condition, ready for use or gifting.
